Steve has lived in the centre of Great Bardfield since 1987 with his wife Mary and three sons Tom, Nick and William. All three children passed through the village school where Steve spent ten years on the PTA, (two as Chairman) and four years as Governor. While Mary was working as Supervisor at the village Pre-school he led a small team which secured a £123,206 grant from the Lotteries Commission towards building the new Pre-school and After School Club building in the school grounds.

Steve has worked in London for several large international design consultancies over the last thirty years. He currently applies his interest in environmental design to good use on the Parish Council by chairing the Village Design Statement team and the development of a new pavilion/sports facility programmed for completion at the end of 2012.
