Quality Council Hits Century! Great Bardfield Parish Council is the 100th. Council in the country to be awarded Quality Status.
The secretary of the Essex Association of Local Councils said that Great Bardfield Parish Council fully deserve to be awarded Quality Status, as they are already committed to partnership working with other tiers of local government. From a Parish point of view, this Status means that the Council are eligible to apply for funding from the Quality Parish Investment Fund. Parish Clerk Kate Fox duly submitted the parish 'wish list' , and was pleased to receive a positive result, providing money which will be used towards several parish projects including the new footpath map and the new pavilion project. Out of 109 councils applying, only 22 were successful in obtaining the full grant, one of which was Great Bardfield. Above- Kate Fox and Janet Dyson at NALC reception for 100th.
