Great Bardfield is an independent Local Authority with powers, duties and responsibilities of its own. It is completely independent of County and  District, and is managed by a council elected every  four years and the next one is due in May 2007. For more information about each Councillor, click on their button on the left.

The Council also has an Administrator, the Parish Clerk who is responsible for making sure the Council acts legally, and manages the running of Great Bardfield's assets and facilities. If you don't know any of the Councillors, or you are not sure where you should be making an enquiry, talk to the clerk first. You can e-mail gbpc@btconnect.com or 'phone 01371 810111
